Santa Teresa RUM: Transition Design & Compositing
This project was created for a series of television and cinema spots for Santa Teresa rum.
My role focused on designing and producing visual transitions that connected the brand’s bottle and label
artwork with the real-world location of Hacienda Santa Teresa.
For the primary spot, I developed a seamless transition that begins with a live-action shot of a man seated in
front of the bottle. The camera moves toward the label, travels through its illustrated artwork, and emerges into
the real hacienda depicted in the design. I combined the live-action footage, bottle imagery, animation,
and environmental elements into a single continuous sequence.
I also created the reverse version of this effect, beginning at the real hacienda and traveling back through its
illustrated representation before pulling out of the bottle label. Both transitions required careful compositing
and animation to maintain continuity across perspective, scale, lighting, texture, and camera movement.
For a secondary campaign spot, I designed an additional transition in which the label dissolves through
a bright, luminous effect. The animation was developed to feel elegant and organic while maintaining
the premium visual identity of the brand.
I also created a standalone Santa Teresa logo sequence entirely in After Effects. The logo emerges through
an animated ink treatment inspired by traditional printing and handcrafted textures. Unlike the other shots,
this sequence was built completely with motion graphics and did not incorporate live-action footage.
Across the project, my work included transition design, motion graphics, compositing, visual effects,
camera animation, and the integration of live-action and graphic elements.
